Part 2 of my biographical sketch of Alwin Schroeder is titled "Ballenstedt and Berlin." It deals mainly with the years 1868-1874, when the teenaged Alwin was playing viola with his older brothers in a professional string quartet, and is now live on the schroeder170.org website.
